If I have an apple, and I sell it to you, you now have the apple, and I do not. You can then go on to sell that apple to anyone else, and it's no skin off my nose. If I tell you that it will rain tomorrow, now you know it and I still know it. If you go and tell all your friends what I said, I will then have nothing to sell. That is the key issue here. No one would get mad if I started giving away apples over the Internet.
